Born in Huntsville, Alabama on a NASA army cot in 1965, raised in Pennsylvania, and now living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Stef hit the coloring book stage and never stopped. She always had a pencil in her hand, and doodling was as natural as breathing.
Her parents moved quite a bit, so she never had time to put roots down and make friends. So wherever she went, she sought out nature. The woods, fishing holes, and abandoned lots were full of wildlife, where a child could make a critter friend for a day.
This is reflected in her art. She does all forms and styles - abstract, realism, portraits, and comic. But whimsical folk art is her favorite.
She has painted for taxidermists, veterinarians, dog/cat/ferret shows and rescues. She has artwork in many countries like Australia, Germany, and Japan to name a few.
She became a pet groomer in 1985. This was only natural, because it combines art (sculpting) with the animals she adores. But painting is still her passion.
